JSON to CSV Converter

Turn a JSON array into a CSV file for Excel or Google Sheets. Your data is converted in your browser and never uploaded.

Private by design. The conversion happens in this browser. Your JSON is not uploaded, and nothing is stored.

How to use it

  1. Paste your JSON. An array of objects works best; each object becomes a row.
  2. Choose the delimiter your spreadsheet expects (comma for most English-locale software, semicolon for some European locales).
  3. Click Convert to preview the CSV, then Download .csv.

How it works and why it matters

CSV is the simplest format for moving tables between apps. This converter reads a JSON array of objects, collects every key as a column, and writes one row per object. Nested objects and arrays are stored as JSON text in their cell. The download includes a byte-order mark so Excel opens non-English text correctly. Spreadsheet formula protection adds an apostrophe before cells that start with =, +, - or @, which stops a cell from running as a formula when opened.

Questions

Why does a cell start with an apostrophe?

That is spreadsheet formula protection. Turn it off with the checkbox if your data never includes formulas and you want the raw values.

Can it handle nested JSON?

Nested objects and arrays are written as JSON text inside one cell. Flatten them first if you need one column per field.

Why does Excel show odd characters for some languages?

The download includes a UTF-8 byte-order mark so Excel detects the encoding. Opening the copied text in a plain editor also works.
