JSON Formatter and Validator
Paste JSON to format it neatly, compress it into one line, or check it for errors.
How to use it
- Paste your JSON into the box.
- Click Format to make it readable, Minify to shrink it, or Validate to check it.
- If there is an error, read the message and fix that spot in your text.
How it works and why it matters
JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is the most common format for sending data between apps and APIs. Raw JSON is often one long line that is hard to read. This formatter adds indentation so you can see the structure, removes spaces to make it smaller, and reports the exact problem when something is missing, such as a comma or a quotation mark.

Questions
What does 'Invalid JSON' mean?
The text does not follow JSON rules. Common causes are a missing comma, single quotes instead of double quotes, or a trailing comma after the last item.
What is the difference between format and minify?
Format adds spaces and line breaks for easy reading. Minify removes them to make the data smaller for storage or transfer.
Is my JSON private?
Yes. It is checked in your browser and never sent to a server, which matters when your data contains API keys or customer details.
