Your local time: -
UTC (ISO 8601): -
Values above 100,000,000,000 are treated as milliseconds. Smaller values are treated as seconds.
How to use it
- Paste a Unix timestamp, or pick a date and time.
- Read the local time and UTC result.
- Click Use current time to see now as a timestamp.
How it works and why it matters
A Unix timestamp counts seconds since 1 January 1970 (UTC). APIs, logs and databases often store dates this way. This converter shows the result in your local time zone and in UTC, and converts dates back to timestamps. Millisecond timestamps, common in JavaScript, are detected automatically.

Questions
What is epoch time?
Epoch time is the same as Unix time: seconds since 1 January 1970 UTC, not counting leap seconds.
Why do I see two different times?
Local time follows your device's time zone, while UTC is the universal reference. Both show the same moment.
How do I know if a timestamp is in milliseconds?
Millisecond timestamps are about 1000 times larger. This tool detects them when the value is over 100 billion.
