WiFi QR Code Generator

Create a QR code that lets guests join your WiFi by scanning it. The code is made in your browser.

Scan with a phone camera to join the network.

The QR code contains your password. Anyone who scans it can join the network, so do not post it publicly.

How to use it

  1. Type the network name exactly as it appears in your WiFi settings.
  2. Choose the security type and enter the password. Pick Open network if there is none.
  3. Scan the code with a phone to test it, then download the SVG and print it.

How it works and why it matters

A WiFi QR code stores the network name, password and security type in a standard text format. Phones read it with the camera and offer to join. This page builds that code in your browser, so the password is never sent to a server. Because the password is inside the code, print it somewhere guests can see but the public cannot.

Questions

Which phones can scan it?

Most modern iPhone and Android cameras read WiFi QR codes. Some older phones need a QR scanner app.

Is my password stored?

No. The code is built in your browser and nothing is saved or sent.

What if the network name has special characters?

The tool escapes characters such as ; , : and backslash so the code still reads correctly.
